zsync 0.0.3 is out

0.0.2 had a bug in the new HTTP code, which resulted in i t thinking an error occurred every time it disconnected from a web server. This broke gzip downloads, which still use multiple connections in some cases. 0.0.3 is also much faster at running the checksum comparison; it is now much closer to rsync in speed. (Change log and release notes.)

I have updated the technical paper. It now has more notes on the network/HTTP side of things, and more comparison with rsync. Also I have broken out the trial data to its own section, and included some larger files and some direct comparisons with rsync. So far, zsync seems to be doing well.

I have moved the .zsync streams I am providing to their own page. There are streams for Debian packages files, debian-installer netinst images, and Fedora Core releases currently.

zsync 0.0.2 is out

Get it from the sourceforge download page. This is a major over haul from 0.0.1, in particular removing the libc streams mess from the download process, and using HTTP/1.1+pipelining when downloading. This version can now ma x out my connection, and the traffic pattern is much more server-friendly. Full change log & release notes.
